
Rule 39B of the Aircraft Rules, 1937 regarding Medical Standards of flight crew stipulates that no license or rating required for any of the personnel of the aircraft shall be issued or renewed unless the applicant undergoes a medical examination with an approved medical authority and satisfies the medical standards as notified by the Director General of Civil Aviation In India."

Medical requirements are divided into class 1 & class 2, the class 2 is primarily a physical examination, whereas in a class 1 examination an ECG, audiogram, blood lipids test and specialist eye examination is also undertaken. In both classes, Medical exams usually become more exacting as you grow older.
Class 2 Medicals involve following tests :
1. Blood CBC
2. Urine Routine
3. Chest X-Ray
4. E.C.G.
5. Audiometry
6. E.E.G. ( Optional for class 2 ).
